Due to guidelines issued by Herts Valley Clinical Commissioning Group we can only except repeat medication requests in the following ways:
- By post – send the computer printout of your last prescription to us with a stamped addressed envelope if you want us to post it back to you. Please clearly mark items you wish to reorder and cross out those you do not need. Please sign the paper
Please note, because so many drug names sound the same, we do not allow our staff to take repeat prescription requests over the telephone as this could lead to mistakes.
We ask patients to provide the specific name of the medication they are requesting (rather than the type of medication) in order to avoid errors.
Please always allow up to five full working days for us to deal with your request. Please ensure you order your medication in plenty of time.
It is not always possible to deal with urgent requests on the day.
The practice will deal with any request to convert a private prescription to a NHS prescription on an individual basis. Not all private prescriptions can be converted to NHS. Please allow five full working days for your request to be dealt with (as with all prescription requests).
Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see a doctor, nurse practitioner or practice nurse at least once a year to review these regular medications. You may get a notification on your repeat slip, or be contacted by reception. Please ensure that you book an appropriate appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions.
Electronic Prescription Service (EPS)
EPS allows us to send your prescriptions electronically to a pharmacy of your choice. This makes the process more efficient and patients can collect their prescriptions from the pharmacy. Please inform reception which pharmacy you would like your prescriptions to be sent to.
